Google last Friday (July 20, 2012) said it had acquired Sparrow for an undisclosed amount. If you’re not familiar with Sparrow, it’s arguably the most popular and best e-mail client available for iOS and Mac.Google already distributes a native iOS client for Gmail, its Web-based email service. The company says it intends to use Sparrow’s engineers to contribute to the ongoing development of Gmail, but declined to provide specifics.
